Youth interested in learning more about fitting and showing a beef animal are invited to attend the Dallas County Beef Cow Camp from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 4 at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Buffalo.

“This camp is unique in the fact that it provides hands-on opportunities for youth, that may or may not already be 4-H members, to learn more about feeding, fitting, and showing beef cattle,” Sara Towry, 4-H youth program assistant with University of Missouri Extension.

The cost for the camp is $5 if registered by May 14 and then $10 until the morning of the event, but space is limited. This camp fee includes lunch and a t-shirt.

To register, contact the Dallas County Extension Office at (417) 345-7551. Forms may also be accessed online at the Dallas County Extension Website at http://extension.missouri.edu/dallas under the 4-H link.

The Dallas County Beef Cow Camp is a cooperative effort between University of Missouri Extension, the Dallas County 4-H Council and the Dallas County Cattleman’s Association.
