Annual Spring Gardening Conference in Branson March 8, Pre-Registration is Needed

GALENA, Mo. – The Annual “Spring Gardening Conference” is 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., Saturday, March 8 at Faith Lutheran Church, 221 Malone, Branson, Mo. Registration and horticulture vendor booths open at 8:30 a.m.
The event will be presented by the Master Gardeners of the Ozarks in conjunction with University Extension of Missouri.
The following programs and speakers are scheduled for this year:
• “Let's Get Started-Composting and Getting to Know your Soil,” by Renae and Mark Bernskoetter, Master Gardeners of Greene County.
• “Growing a Flower Garden in the Ozarks,” by Peter Longley, Master Gardener of Greene County.
• “Insects in the Garden: The Good, The Bad and The Interesting,” by Dr. Tom Riley of Forsyth, a master gardener and retired entomologist Louisiana State University.
• “Cooking Demonstration,” conducted by chef and students from College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, Mo.
The cost of the workshop is $18 per person and includes all sessions, breakfast and a catered lunch. Preregistration is required and the deadline for registration is March 3. Registering online is preferred and can be done at www.mgozarks.com or by calling 417-357-6812.
