NEOSHO, Mo. -- Master Gardeners in McDonald and Newton counties have a spring plant sale scheduled for May 10.  The sales will include shrubs, small trees, bulbs, perennials, annuals, grasses, ground covers, houseplants, garden related items and more.

The annual Master Gardener Plant Sale of the Hill and Hollow Club will start at 8 a.m. and end about 1 p.m., Saturday, May 10, at the new MU Extension office, 18728 Hwy 59, Neosho, Mo. which is across from the Neosho Airport.

“People in the Master Gardener program gather plants to sell from their own gardens and lawns and group plantings that the Master Gardeners do as a club. The quality is excellent and the prices are real bargains,” said John Hobbs, agriculture and rural development specialist with University of Missouri Extension.

People should arrive early to get the best choices.

According to Hobbs, this fundraiser helps Master Gardeners enhance community gardens and continue the group’s mission of providing gardening information to the public by providing free seminars, literature and help.

Last year, members in the Master Gardeners of McDonald/Newton County chapter gave more than 2500 hours in volunteer service to the community.
