WEST PLAINS, Mo. -- A private pesticide applicator training session will be offered at 6 p.m. on Feb. 20 at the University of Missouri Extension Center in West Plains. The training will last about two hours.
A $12 fee to cover material costs for the class is required. Seating is limited and persons interested in attending should call (417) 256-2391 to reserve a space.
Missouri law requires all purchasers and users of restricted-use pesticides to attend a training session to be certified for a private applicators license. This training is open to anyone 18 years of age or older who needs to receive a private pesticide license and those who need to recertify their license.
“I suggest that pesticide applicators look at the expiration date on their licenses to see if they need to recertify. This type of training is required to recertify licenses, which are good for five years,” said Sarah Kenyon, an agronomy specialist with University of Missouri Extension who will be the class instructor.
This same training session may be offered in surrounding counties. Contact the nearest MU Extension office for more information.
University of Missouri Extension programs focus on the high-priority needs of Missourians. Each county extension center, with oversight by locally elected and appointed citizens, is your local link to practical education on almost anything.
