National Qualifying Stock Dog Trials Sept. 14-15 in Republic will Benefit Local Youth in 4-H and FFA

REPUBLIC, Mo. -- Members of the Mid-States Stock Dog Association and the Show-Me Stock Dog League will be compete with their working stock dogs in sheep and cattle trials at special event being held in Republic, Mo.

The “Horsin Around 4-H Club and Republic FFA National Qualifying Stock Dog Trials” will begin at 10 a.m. on Sept. 14 and resume at 9 a.m. on Sept. 15 at the Republic Saddle Club Arena,
located at the corner of Miller Road and Lynn, east of the Republic Community Center.

Admission is free but donations will be accepted. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Horsin Around 4-H Club and the Republic FFA.

“The past National Champion and current qualified dogs will be competing at this event,” said Brenda Wieder, an adult volunteer with the Horsin Around 4-H Club. “Come out and watch working stock dogs, speak with handlers and support our Republic 4-H and FFA youth.”

Event highlights include cattle herding with dogs on Saturday at 10 a.m., sheep herding with dogs on Sunday at 9 a.m., vendor booths, raffles, silent auction, swap meeting and onside concessions, with all proceeds going to the Horsin Around 4-H club and Republic FFA.
